About this adventure

Altafjord offers spectacular views at any time of the year. The Fjord has a long history, with settlements and rock carvings dating back over 6000 years.

The fjord was an important naval base during the occupation of Finnmark during the second world war, with several big battleships stationed in it. Ruins of this time remain until this day.

The fjord is home to spectacular wildlife, from sea eagles to seals and whales, depending on the time of the year.

On this trip we take you on an exciting RIB boat ride along the shores of Altafjord, and you will learn about our local history and experience the wildlife in the fjord. Our RIB boats are high speed boats, operated by experienced drivers. Making the ride just as spectacular and exciting as the views around us.

The tour

Meet us at our Æverntyr Adventure Store in the city center 5-10 minutes before the start of the Tour.

9:00

The Tour will start with a short briefing. You will also get warm suits, gloves, boots and googles to wear on the boat. Afterwards your guide will drive you to the harbor.

9:30

In the harbor you will board our RIB boat and meet your driver. After a short safety briefing we are ready to go and enjoy the fresh breeze on the fjord.

11:00

We will return to our Adventure Store in the city center.

Practical information

Changes to the trip due to weather conditions may occur.

Wear warm clothes and shoes in accordance with the weather forecast and season.

This trip is not recommended for those who have back problems or for those who are pregnant. Children up to 12 years.

Passengers must be at least 120cm tall to be able to join this trip.

For this activity we need at least 6 participants.
